so what does this say about the standard opposed challenge mechanics. I have not evaluated the mathematics of this but what does adding the passing dice give that an opposed challenge would not.

Are you talking about using a Challenge to draw against each other?

No. what I was asking is that why the new mechanic for draw? Why not use a challenge? And if there is a reason for the new mechanic what does this say about opposed challenges in general. Are there benefits to the new mechanic that should/could be used for any opposed challenge?

My impression is that the new draw mechanic incorporates variable REP damage in an elegant way. I compare it not to a Challenge test but to the older Draw mechanic in 6GS.
