There's a 007 movie - Never Say Never, I guess the lesson here is "Never Say Final Version!" Lol

Darn right. Final Versions die by the wayside, evolve or die! The People have spoken and we try to stay current. Remember the 8 Track Final Version?

This is awesome. I like the philosophy behind it. Trimming the fat - i.e. the uneventful running around until you meet a PEF that resolves as hostile - is exactly the right choice in my opinion. It will be interesting to see how this is applicable to the games. Maybe we'll see range bands or something similar, which would be fine by me as long as it remains abstracted.

For a change of pace, I added both versions into one free doc.

I've never been much of a fan of Battle Boards (except Dungeon Crawl), but CR2018 changes everything. It's such a clear and beautiful set of rules.

Now I am already thinking about converting Long Rifle for CR2018. I'd probably miss the scenery of a "real" gaming table, but the number of actually played games would increase...a lot. It's not just a matter of quantity, I think the quality (i.e. fun) of each individual game will increase too.

I love these rules!
