Bayou Wars 2018

Postby flashcove » Tue Jun 12, 2018 11:36 am

Bayou Wars 2018 has come and gone. We had a wonderful time.
My Friday night game was a fight between the Egyptians and Fuzzy-Wuzzys. The Fuzzys once again did in the poor Egyptians. Colonial Adventures 2nd Edition, of course.
Saturday night we played Swordplay 2015, in which a Viking had stolen the willing wife of a Saxon jarl, and taken her to his fortified farm. The game ended with the Viking accepting the challenge of the Saxon jarl in single combat, a decision which cost him his life.

And Sunday, we played Warrior Heroes Warbands. Barbarians had set up in an abandoned hunting castle, and were beset by ravenous orcs. This was the first large game I had run with these rules, and I made a couple of mistakes, but the end saw the remaining orcs gaining the castle while the remaining barbarians escaped over the back wall. There were over 140 orcs on the table and about 100 barbarians. Unfortunately, our old camera decided to be recalcitrant, so no pictures.
The only good zombie no longer moves.

Angela and I hate we missed out this year! In the words of Maxwell Smart "missed it by that much..."

I'm at least still getting some games in, albeit solo, but fun and rolling dice none the less!!!

Thanks,
Brian

 ...Well, the littlest one is 3 and her older brother is 5...they would probably have stayed with their grandparents while Angela and I attended...next year might work out better, we'll see!

Yes, time indeed does fly!!!

Congratulations. I have a 40 year old kid. She took it harder than I did and her younger brother is 34. Yikes, they're old! :D
