Nuts! AAR - A Sniper's Saga

Postby shon maxx » Sun May 13, 2018 8:22 pm

Returning to Nuts and trying to new rules, along with those in the Compendium, I set up a campaign with my lone sniper against the German army.

Here's the entire epic adventure right here (Get comfortable!):

Dimitri obviously didn't sacrifice enough chickens to the dice gods!

Dimitri should have been playing Yahtzee. He would have 'killed' that game.
Nice write up, I liked how some paragraphs ended and kind of forced a look at the pics.

Thanks. Originally, I was going to just scrap it and start over. But the sudden defeat was so shocking, I just had to make an AAR out of it. The second game went much better, and I’ll post it when I get the chance.

Thanks for the AAR. I enjoyed the read but not the untimely end. It’s tough when the dice conspire against you.
Thumbs up for not dice fudging and going with it.

I almost did but figured since it was so early in the game, I'd just with a new character.

Yeah this must be karma coming back to haunt me after all those years as an evil DM/GM (not a killer, just evil). So far when solo gaming:
-My superhero was injured, then died during healing, then reduced to ash after a failed rez attempt by the other player.
-In a Star Wars game, I got the entire Galactic Alliance hunting me down after 20 minutes of play (I was a good guy).
-Lost 3 different teams to a lone goblin in 2HDC.
-In a CR 3.0 mass battle game, my Star got shot by an enemy sniper and I again rolled all 5's and 6's for Star Power.

Hey,

I'm a little late with a reply, but nice write-up!

Too bad about the outcome...I've had plenty of those games!

Did you by any chance try the Hidden or Ambush setup rules (pg 14 of the Compendium)? I blew the die roll in my game, (I was playing vs a German sniper)...I somehow managed to blow the sniper team out of the top of a building with a 76mm round from my Sherman, I think I have some pics from that game somewhere? Anyways, I rolled poorly for the opposition for a change...

Looking forward to the next installment!

Thanks. I didn't use the Hidden rules as I was trying to slowly add rules from the Compendium, since I hadn't played Nuts in a while. Wow, taking out an enemy sniper with a Sherman? Impressive!

I've got another Nuts game planned, along with a Captain Nemo game. Just have to find the time to run them.

Yeah, couldn't do it again if my life depended on it...however the TC was unbuttoned at the time...it reminded of the final battle in Saving Private Ryan, except it was the US sniper/DMR that was taken out.

Story of my life!

Hope to see some more AARs!

Thanks,
