ATZ Laying Low

On Page 32, it reads that when Laying Low, you roll 1d6 versus your Rep and if you roll higher, you fail and resolve an Involuntary Encounter. Also, a 6 always fails, regardless of Rep.

So far so good.

But if you get an NPC to give you a place to Lay Low, you get a +1 to your Rep.

The problem is players all start at Rep 5, meaning the +1 would would do nothing since a 6 fails. Is it supposed to be +1d6?

Correct. The modifier is to help out Stars when their Rep drops. Rep 5 or better, no help at all.
