Cyndees are coming

Postby Martian Banshee » Sat Mar 19, 2016 12:53 am

Here's an interesting article, and a good video, if you can sit through the interminable commercials. The video is 'Sophia', an android with very human like features. The question I have is will this be a Cyndee, or Nina Luvdoll, or is Nina Luvdoll secretly a Cyndee.

One of the many inspirations for Nina was an episode of Futurescape where androids in the future would be given the right to vote. At the same time the question of same sex marriage was before the Supreme Court, so I thought to push the envelope by having Pearl and Nina marry.

One of the big downfalls of the Cindee, is that it will always be cheaper to program a human to perform the tasks Cindees were designed to do.

Cyndees in 5150 don't do menial tasks ;) At least, that's not what they were designed for.

I'm thinking that in the future it would be much cheaper to augment a human female with the cybernetics to be a super spy/assassin. Plus humans would be much more plentiful and willing.

That's probably why the Cyndee program was cancelled without finding a cure for the madness they are prone to suffer.

Officially this "madness" you claim has never been proven. :)

Well, their existence has never been proven either. The idea of Cyndees going rogue from the empire makes a good story, a Cyndee going berserk makes a great urban myth.

Well, I was saving the $ so I could finally quit work and go back to school for another degree, but now . . . oh so tempting!
